Everything you need to know before, during, and after your stay at NSIRH.

Admission Checklist

Since SCI care often requires extended stays, preparation is key. Please bring the following:

Essential Documents

  • National ID / Passport (patient & next of kin)
  • Comprehensive referral letter from referring hospital
  • SHA / insurance cards & pre-authorisation forms
  • Existing X-ray, MRI / CT scan reports
  • Medical records & discharge summaries

Personal Items

  • Comfortable, loose-fitting clothes
  • Basic toiletries (soap, toothbrush, comb)
  • Reading material / tablet (securely stored)
  • Small amount of cash for minor expenses
  • Emergency contact details for next of kin
Payment & Insurance

Our Finance Unit works closely with patients to manage care costs. Contact them before or immediately upon admission.

SHA & Insurance

Ensure your SHA membership is active. Pre-authorisation is mandatory. Submit documents within 24 hours of admission.

M-Pesa Paybill

Pay using Paybill 222-222 with a unique account number from the cashier. Bills are generated weekly.

Financial Assistance Available

NSIRH adheres to government fee waiver policies. Contact our Medical Social Work unit immediately if you need financial assistance.

Information — To receive clear, honest information about your diagnosis, treatment options, and prognosis.

Privacy & Confidentiality — Your medical information is protected and will not be shared without your consent.

Complaints — To raise concerns or complaints through the Patient Feedback system without fear of reprisal.
Visiting Guidelines

Visiting Hours

Midday: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Evening: 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM

Visitor Policy

Maximum 2 visitors per patient at a time. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Important: No food or fruits from outside are permitted for patients. This ensures the safety and quality of meals provided by our dietitian team.
