From September 23rd to 26th, 2024, the National Spinal Injury Referral Hospital (NSIRH) successfully concluded a four-day Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) training focused on ultrasound-guided assessment and chemical synovectomy.
The intensive training program brought together healthcare professionals from NSIRH in collaboration with Los Angeles Orthopedic Hospital, UC San Diego Health, and the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) Humanitarian Aid Program.
The training aimed at equipping the multidisciplinary team with advanced skills in the use of ultrasound technology for accurate diagnosis of joint problems and the performance of chemical synovectomy. These skills are expected to significantly improve diagnostic precision and treatment outcomes for Persons With Bleeding Disorders (PWBDs), benefiting hundreds of patients.
During Day 2 and Day 3 of the program, participants engaged in practical ultrasound sessions and hands-on chemical synovectomy procedures under the guidance of expert trainers from the WFH Humanitarian Aid Program team. The collaboration strengthened knowledge exchange and enhanced clinical capacity within the hospital.
The WFH team, a global non-profit organization dedicated to improving and sustaining care for people with inherited bleeding disorders, also toured the hospital facilities as part of the visit.
Congratulations to all participants for their dedication and commitment to advancing specialized healthcare services through this important training initiative.
