October 3, 2026: The National Spinal Injury Referral Hospital (NSIRH) took part in the MFC-ICLIP Free Comprehensive Medical Camp at Kiptagich Comprehensive School in Kuresoi South Constituency, Nakuru County, bringing quality healthcare closer to the people who need it. The camp was held under the Mau Forest Complex Integrated Conservation and Livelihood Improvement Programme (MFC-ICLIP), whose Patron is Dr. Eng. Festus Ngeno, Principal Secretary, State Department for Environment and Climate Change. It was organised in partnership with the Ministry of Health and the Nakuru County Government.
NSIRH joined other State Agencies under the Ministry of Health in offering free services to residents of the Mau Forest Complex. The NSIRH multidisciplinary team engaged directly with residents throughout the day, providing consultations, specialised medical advice, wellness check-ups, and orthopaedic, rehabilitation and mobility support. Every service was delivered with care and compassion.
For many families in remote areas, reaching a referral facility can be difficult. Community medical camps like this one help bridge that gap by offering early check-ups, timely advice and, where needed, guidance on the next steps in care. “Good health starts with a simple check-up” was the message the NSIRH team shared with everyone who came to be seen.
NSIRH thanks the Ministry of Health, the MFC-ICLIP programme, the Nakuru County Government and the community members who came out to be seen. The hospital remains committed to taking its expertise beyond the hospital walls and supporting initiatives that improve health outcomes for communities across Kenya.
