Strengthening Partnerships for Better Patient Care

On 15 April 2026, the National Spinal Injury Referral Hospital (NSIRH) achieved a significant milestone in advancing patient care.
Dr. Kibet P. Shikuku, Director Medical Services at NSIRH, joined hands with Hope Mobility Kenya Executive Director Jack Muthui and Hope Mobility Kenya Founder & CEO Michael Panther to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will enhance collaboration between the two institutions.
This landmark partnership will:
- Support the assessment and fitting of mobility devices for both inpatients and outpatients.
- Streamline patient referrals for more efficient care pathways.
- Wound Vacuum-Assisted Closure (VAC) machines
- Promote joint outreach and follow‑up activities to strengthen community impact.
- Advance training, research, and development of joint projects that benefit patients and both institutions.

Also present were Dr. Linda Kigera, Head of Division – Health Administration and Corporate Services, and Dunliff Ogwangi, Head of Unit – Medical Social Work.
